New LADOT General Manager leaves city of San Francisco hanging

seleta-reynoldsThe City of Los Angeles city council confirmed new General Manager Seleta Reynolds.  Reynolds is currently the head of San Francisco’s Department of Transportation in the livable streets division.  It is unclear why mayor Eric Garcetti selected someone from San Francisco, as opposed to a native Angeleno, but the city council unanimously approved her, despite concerns from 8th District councilman Bernard Parks.  Her background may prove Parks correct.Continue reading “New LADOT General Manager leaves city of San Francisco hanging”

LACMTA attempts compromise wtih Los Angeles World Airports

lax lineResidents in Los Angeles are fuming over the failure of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority (LACMTA) to build a rail line that reaches LAX Airport (LAWA).  Construction has begun for the new Crenshaw/LAX line that doesn’t quite reach LAX.  As LACMTA continues to look for solutions, and citing the high cost of tunneling to bring rail directly into the airport, they instead are looking at a “people mover” that will be built by LAWA.Continue reading “LACMTA attempts compromise wtih Los Angeles World Airports”
